It is true that I only want to show off to women.
      Women alone stir my imagination.

Liann Snow

Drawing of Liann Snow © Sudie RakusinLiann Snow is an English lesbian, born in Kent, living and working in London. She writes songs, poems, stories, and novels. She is also an artist and a gardener. Her story writing first found its place in Sheba’s groundbreaking Serious Pleasure anthologies. She has also been published in UK magazines and online literary magazines. Her story collection, Moon Madness and Other Stories, and her first novel, Faith In Love, are now electronic books published by Artemis Press. Liann has been an advertising copywriter for major London department stores. She has a BA Honours degree in Modern Studies from the University of North London.

From "Liann Snow, the Lesbian Shakespeare", by Mary Meriam:

One feels in good hands, while reading Liann Snow. Her words carry the weight of heavy thinking, but Liann’s done all the heavy lifting, so the reader is free to enjoy the heavy breathing. Upon reading Liann Snow, I wrote a sonnet sequence called “Upon Reading Liann Snow.” I wrote that reading Liann Snow is like a lover, like my lover:

My lover lifts me over humps and hurdles
intuits us above the spinning earth
until we’re free of binding bras and girdles
and floating on a cloud of blissful mirth.
I imagine it must feel very good to be one of Liann’s pieces: pampered, polished, and cared for, until the moment is perfect to go forth into the world to be published and win prizes. Liann is a gardener (she says so on her website, liannsnow.com), and she has the patience necessary to grow beautiful gardens of words. Her words make me feel like a rose, like a rose I would like her to hold:

A rose is a rose is a rose, she wrote—am I close
yet to botanist’s book? This field is cold—
oh strip my thorns! Give me the gardener’s dose
of care and let me feel her trusting hold!
